Last week we came to the close of Holy Week as well as our 'MARCH Through the Gospels' ladies Bible study.

If you have not read about the first couple of weeks, please check them out here.

The third week of March rolled around rather quickly. God put it on my heart to create a celebration for the last day of our Bible Study. Passion Thursday, also known Maundy Thursday, or Holy Thursday was 'conveniently' the same day. The following days passed with excitement; The Holy Spirit lead me to grocery stores, crafty boutiques, and local bakeries, such as Angela's Oven for the delicious Sourdough bread photographed below.

It was then when I realized I would be humbling myself before the Lord in new heights. This was not about deliciously hot bread or tasty grape juice. This would be a recreation of how our Messiah gave His life for US! This time together would emphasize the fellowship between Jesus and His disciples.

Upon their arrival, I invited the ladies to 'Follow me' to their seat while the others trickled in.

We bowed our heads and prayed over each of the items: the bread, "wine," oil, and our Bible Study. We dove right in by discussing scriptures of the Gospels which touched their hearts. Each one sharing different thoughts, creating an alternative perspective to discuss among the group.

Together we broke bread, drank of His 'blood' all to symbolize communion, consecration, and cleansing.

The room filled with love and compassion within minutes. I began to sit back while soaking in the presence of the Lord, graciously thanking Him for creating a bond between our group of ladies.

After answering valuable questions from the readings over the month, I mentioned we had one more aspect of the Bible to walk out.

We transferred to the couch where the ladies sat individually, giggling with one another, trying to guess what was planned next.

I brought over the bowl, fresh white linens, and anointing oil and instantly one of the student's eyes filled with tears.

"You're going to wash our feet as Jesus did to His disciples?"

"Yes." I said humbly.

I took my Bible began reading John 13:4,

"so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him."

Tears turned into a continuous stream down her face.

As did mine.

Over the next thirty minutes, the Holy Spirit directed my mouth and my hands to humble myself before these three beautiful ladies. I was honored to kneel down and wash the feet of my fellow sisters in Christ. Prayers flowed from my lips, while warm water trickled from their feet.

It was not only a beautiful moment to participate in but most importantly, an unforgettable moment I shared with the Lord. This was a time where everything was perfect. The time stopped and I could have sat there for the remaining hours washing feet but the Holy Spirit closed with John 13:13-17 saying,

“You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them."

Every woman who left the church that evening, left with something much, much more than they came in with, especially myself.

This was a monumental evening only the Holy Spirit could come up with and I am speechless of the honor I felt  to be the vessel my Healvenly Father used.

I thank you Lord God for putting it on my heart to share this moment with You and the ladies of the Bible Study. I thank you Holy Spirit for descending upon each and every one of us that miraculous evening, I ask that You continue to work in our hearts, leaving your touch upon each of us. I thank you Father for teaching us how to be faithful disciples all of our days. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
