Tacos & Champagne
Talk about a remarkably delicious date night! My husband and I decided to partake in The Tacos & Champagne Pop Up. The whirlwind of cultures took place at Campesino Coffee House in the heart of Montrose, all to benefit those who were affected by Hurricane Harvey and lack supplies for the upcoming school year.
Bottles began popping promptly at 6 o'oclock last Friday evening. Upon arrival, the smell of fresh tortillas on the comal tickled our noses. The young ladies of Cochinita & co. filled our plates with a combination of Nopales Veganos, Frijoles Campesionos and Mole a La Curry. Their modern style menu lacks neither taste nor culture.
Alongside mouthwatering tacos and bubbly champagne, we were able to mingle with a few of Houston's finest artisans.
The Hernandez sisters who established Xaibe Boutique, helped fill the patio with gorgeous colors from Mexico. These sisters came together to create great elegance and poise with unique paintings, fine linens, blouses and bolsas.
Gabby of Miradela designed her own splash of color with laughter and her infamous Chiflada coffee cups. You can choose from shimmery pink or classy silver, both giving off a beautiful array of color. Do not be fooled, she also carries charming earrings and necklaces to fit every chiflada's mood as well.
Can I get a show of hands of all the Chilfadas in the house !?
Miss Sol Creatives brought life to her handcrafted felt flowers. This Argentinian beauty stood by her husband while they had a nice quiet moment before the chaos set in. Whether your mijitas are looking for new hair ties or your mujeres are needing a few cute accesorios para el cebello, Sol will dedicate her time to make sure you are pleased with your purchase.
If you missed this marvelous event, I highly recommend you stop by this Friday, September 15th to help ring in Mexico's Independence Day at the El Grito de Dolores event.
A special thank you to all those who came out to support our fellows artists, creators, and entrepreneurs. These ladies dedicated their time and collected school supplies to give back to our community and your continued help in supporting local artists makes this all possible. Not only was this event a tremendous success, it was also a wonderful opportunity to come together and support one another.
Besos y abrazos,
