I am beginning to believe writing must become a habit I diligently pursue, rather than it coming to me as easily as brushing my teeth. How silly was I to believe words would come flying off the end of my pen onto my blog, with little to no effort?
We live and we learn.
So, I have decided to start training myself to write on a regular basis. I know God has placed it on my heart, but I also know I have to do my part as well.
Testimony Tuesday will be a weekly blog on something God has put on my heart to share with others, and I welcome you to share your testimony as well. Why? ...
"They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony..."
-Revelation 12:11 NIV
This is Mary Jo, but I had no I idea who she was when I placed my sweaty hands on the shutter of my camera.
My friends and I were on a bike ride down Washington Avenue, a renowned area in Houston, Texas. Our first stop was Catalina Coffee, one of my favorite coffee shops around town. My friends and I were unlocking our bikes, deciding on our next coffee shop adventure. It was then I looked over at this tall, pale young woman, reading ever so softly to a man who I could assume to be her boyfriend. They locked eyes on one another as she whispered lightly. She was gentle and innocent, patiently awaiting her beau's response to what she was reading.
Neither one noticed when I photographed them, but I felt compelled to ask if they would like the photograph sent to them as a keepsake. She giggled, passed along her phone number and graciously thanked me.
Six hours later, she responded with joy and appreciation, requesting more information of my photography. We messaged back and forth for about an hour ending with the possibility of photographing an upcoming wedding.
What she did not know was the prayer request earlier that Sunday morning for "more creativity and job opportunities."
It had not been eight hours and God had already placed someone in my path. Someone I did not even remotely know or think to have any interest in my work.
It was all God.
God gave me the eyes to see the beauty He sees and gifted me the opportunity to share with another.
Though I am unsure of the outcome of this testimony, God answered my prayer and even shed a little sunshine along the way.
