You Are My Sunshine
Do you remember the sweet nursery rhyme, "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray..."
You DO remember, don't you? It's okay, I'm smiling as well.
Last night, this childlike tune frolicked across my head after a sweet, spirit filled worship singer came to offer me prayer. With her hands on my head she whispered,
"You are a ray of of hope and sunshine. You love all people and it shows all over your face."
Tears filled my eyes as Matthew 5:14-16 danced around in my head.
"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl . Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven."
Every care in the world completely diminished and joy instantly filled my heart, penetrating every inch of my soul.
It was one, heartfelt sentence which demolished a huge wall of uncertainly and confusion but also confimed a prayer written a mere 72 hours beforehand. How glorious is it when your Heavenly Father speaks sweet nothings in your ear?
