Last week we covered ten extremely important tips for photographers. If you missed it, you can check out the blog HERE

Speaking of, the post did so well, today we will discuss using your camera to photograph in full manual mode. By the end of the blog post, you will have a better understanding of how to set the shutter speed, ISO and aperture to photograph your portraits with excellence and poise. And a lot of pract...

Over the last few years and with the advancement of technology, photography has become extremely popular. Though 'selfies' are not what everyday photographers by trade call portraits or photographs, we do enjoy visually pleasing compositions.

If you're not familiar with the word, "composition" this post is for you! If you are ready to transition your hobby into an entrepreneurship, this post is also for you. If you are thinki...

A few of years ago, my boss highly recommended a local lunch spot by the name of, Adair Kitchen.

At the time I was not eating out on a regular basis so it took a few times to convince me. To be quite honest, she opted to pay for my first meal if I would, "For the love of God, please just try this place." With doubt in my mind, I set my homemade taco salad aside and I joined her for lunch.

Linda, my boss, recommended the Super F...

A few months ago I was toying with the idea of re-branding the blog and found myself wanting to incorporate my photography but not take away from the company by using the same name or colors. Carolyn Marie Photography creates unity for the blog but I did not want my clients to feel convicted to read or know about my blog if they were, strictly photography clients. So, I reached out to a graphic designer by the name of Jason M....

Recently debuted, The Union HTX is a newly restored Victorian styled venue in the Old Sixth Ward off Washington Avenue. Its location starts near the infamous Arts District and is filled with creativity and poise.

Local creatives of all medias are coming to The Union HTX for an opportunity to share their work. This cute, little bungalow holds up to 150 people and has amenities such as tables, chairs and generous amoun...

While editing these images, I noticed the album date and low and behold, the first time Carolyn Marie Photography photographed this event was back in October 2017. Here we are, a year later, and we are not only bigger, but we are better!

As noted above, it has been a year since finding this wonderful group of creative entrepreneurs. For those of you who are rolling your eyes about another "networking group," this is not y...

I cannot fathom the idea of Christmas only being a week away. Even more unsettling, New Years is the week thereafter. My mind nostalgically flipped back to last January when my blog was merely a little dream. I believed creating a blog was a silly waste of time and no one in their right mind would want to read what was placed on my heart.

On January 2, 2018, I will be celebrating my first year anniversary of my blog...

I am thrilled to hear such great news over the last couple of weeks. Not one, but TWO of my October weddings are now blessed with new editions! How great is God to bless not only these couples but myself by giving me the opportunity to photograph my clients and their generations to come!

I will also have to admit, it is quite an honor and exciting to be apart of secrets!

Though people warned me, it was not until I had my first experience high above the clouds when I realized, I want nothing more than to travel all over the world with my husband, camera and pen and paper.

Daniel had his first out of town meeting and we decided I would take advantage of the hotel accommodations and let Carolyn Marie Photography purchase an airline ticket to Utah. The plan consisted of parting ways once our feet...

I cannot believe a year has flown by so quickly. Priceless memories and countless events have occurred over the last year and here we are celebrating our One Year Anniversary.

One of the most memorable events, or shall I say the most difficult obstacles God delivered me from is the fear of writing. After many years, I finally allowed God to work on my confidence, unworthiness and fear. It was then when He created this very blo...
