Last November during a road trip, my husband and I stopped into a bright farmhouse styled restaurant called Stella Southern Cafe. We opened the door and our noses flooded with homemade biscuits and freshly roasted coffee. Our ears delighted on the sounds of eggs sizzling on the griddle and Hillsong playing through the speakers. We were greeted by a cheery young lady who recommended the Eggcetera to fit my vegetarian needs and...

Hello all!

Last week I mentioned I had another reason for going Waco but in case you missed it, you can catch up on some of the details HERE

So, did you guess it correctly?

That's right, your gal pal went from being a Houston Cougar to a Baylor Bear!

Even though it was not planned when I first decided to surprise Dan, as usual, God had some things lined up before we ever placed foot on campus.

A couple weeks ago, I surprised my husband with a trip to Waco, Texas. This was planned out sometime in August and though it was a secret hard to keep, it was well worth the wait. We arrived in the nick of time to the first destination, The Roadside America Museum. Carol Estes, a renowned classic car owner peered out of his window while unlocking the door to the museum. He took us though his shop, pointing out life-sized chara...

For the last few years, I have had the pleasure of enjoying a summer road trip with my husband's side of the family. Before 2015, I did not understand what all the hype was about. I had been in and around Texas and it was fun, but nothing spectacular. Then Chicago in the summer of 2015 happened and from then on out, I was in. I had not ever experienced freedom until my feet were ever so high in the air. The next year, we went...

In lieu of being Earth Day, what better way to celebrate than to share some of God's splendid handiwork we stumbled upon over the weekend.

Saturday morning we met up with our friends who actually initiated this Austin trip and we found ourselves at Hank's for brunch. If anyone knows the Jackson's, they know we are the best 'taste testers' in all of Texas. But props to our gal pal, Denise who found this delightful little r...

Last month the cycling crew decided to set out on a new adventure, hiking! Can you believe we did not even bring our bikes? Friday's sleet and small amount of snow may have had something to do with it but it certainly was not going to stop us from our upcoming hiking adventures. Half of the group had not ever hiked before, much less in the hill country so we knew this would be filled with memories....

This past weekend my company, Carolyn Marie Photography went out to Tuscan Hall in Austin to photograph a wedding. If any one of you know me, you know my favorite weekend trip is to go to Austin.

Let's be honest, Houston is a mini version of Austin (or vice versa) and it is a wonderful place to get out and stretch your legs and enjoy the scenery.

As much as it drives my husband nuts, I often request a weekend in good...

As many of you know, I decided to take part in a writing challenge during the month of October. The main goal of this endeavor was to create a new habit by writing every day for thirty-one days.

Guess what? I made it four whole days and did NOT write for three!

As much as I hate to admit, I am not one bit disappointed in myself because I knew my schedule for the upcoming thirty-days. I knew I had to photograph a weddi...

October 1, 2018

Today was my first day back at running after a long hiatus. I was not looking forward to this run but I personally invited God to come running with me anyhow.

I intentionally left my ear buds at home and left the music off and at the top of Centennial Gardens, God said to me, "Find Joy in the Journey.

I wiped my sweat and giggled because October is probably the second most packed full month of birthdays, anniversaries, season...

Though people warned me, it was not until I had my first experience high above the clouds when I realized, I want nothing more than to travel all over the world with my husband, camera and pen and paper.

Daniel had his first out of town meeting and we decided I would take advantage of the hotel accommodations and let Carolyn Marie Photography purchase an airline ticket to Utah. The plan consisted of parting ways once our feet...
